Centre of Biomolecular Drug Research (BMWZ)
 

The Centre of Biomolecular Drug Research (BMWZ) is a Research Centre within Leibniz Universität Hannover , which hosts currently 9 research groups from Chemisty and Biology. By target oriented interdisciplinar basic research in collaboration with clinical and application oriented research partners an integral concept of drug research in Lower Saxony shall be realized.

A close collaboration with researchers from the Hannover Medical School and University of Veterinary Medicine in Hannover as well as with the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Braunschweig forms a unique research network in the field of drug research in Germany.

A special aim of the BMWZ is the education of young scientists. In this context two new study courses have been created, which reflect the strong interdisciplinarity within the BMW

• Bachelor-/Master of "Life Science"
• Master of "Natural Products Chemistry"

In the field of Graduate Education the international graduate program "New Drugs-Chemical Tools for Medicine and Biology" is presently in preparation.
